South Shields have been handed a high-profile tie against National League side Scunthorpe United in the fourth qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The match is due to be played on the weekend of Saturday, October 15th at 1st Cloud Arena, with the date and kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.

Scunthorpe are 21st in the top division of non-league football after their 72-year stay in the Football League ended with relegation last season. The Iron were in the second tier as recently as 11 years ago.
