South Shields will begin 2023 sitting top of the Pitching In Northern Premier League after a productive first half of the season for Kevin Phillips’ side.
The Mariners are three points clear of Hyde United and have two games in hand on the Greater Manchester outfit after winning five of their last seven matches in 2022.
The calendar year is now over in terms of match action for the South Shields FC Academy.
2022 was another 12 months of growth for the club’s youth system, throughout the age spectrum.

Dillon Morse, Blair Adams and Tom Broadbent each struck their first goals of the season as a dominant Shields went in three goals to the good at half-time.
