The countdown to the 2023-24 National League North season is well and truly on after the 24 teams set to make up the competition were confirmed.
Shields will compete in the sixth tier for the first time since reforming in 1974 after last term’s promotion as Pitching In Northern Premier League champions.

Tommy Miller has been appointed as the club’s assistant manager.
Miller brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held the same position at Spennymoor Town in National League North between 2016 and 2021, and at Buxton last season.
He was a team-mate of Julio Arca at Sunderland in the mid-2000s, with the pair now set to link up again as the Mariners’ new management team.
