Billingham tie postponed and rearranged for Wednesday at Mariners Park

Tuesday’s Durham Challenge Cup second round tie between South Shields and Billingham Town has been postponed due to high winds.

The match has been rearranged for the following night (Wednesday), with kick-off to remain at 7.30pm.

All tickets bought on the day or in advance will be valid.

Those buying tickets are Wednesday should be aware that admission prices are £5 for adults, £3 for students and over-65s, and £1 for under-16s.

Match Preview: South Shields vs Billingham Town, Durham Challenge Cup

South Shields will aim to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Durham Challenge Cup on Tuesday when they take on Billingham Town at Mariners Park.

The Mariners, who last won the competition in 2017, are expecting a difficult night against a Billingham side which has adapted well to life in Northern League Division One after winning promotion last season.

Ryton and Crawcrook Albion 0-2 South Shields: Jenkins nets on debut as Mariners progress

Teenage debutant Will Jenkins was among the scorers as South Shields progressed to the second round of the Durham Challenge Cup with a 2-0 win at Ryton and Crawcrook Albion on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old netted the Mariners’ second goal after Lee Mason had given them the lead early in the second half.
